How do I become a pilot in India? I am about to complete my 12th standard. What information about college and other processes required for the same can you give?

1. Requirements to become a pilot: The minimum requirements to become pilot in our country are you need to have your 12th Standard completed and you should have scored 50% of marks in physics, chemistry and maths in your 12th boards.
Student Pilots: To be eligible for a student pilot certificate, you must be at least 16 years old and able to read, speak, write and understand English, as required by civil Aviation Regulation.
Private Pilots: Private pilot applicants must be at least 17 years old and be able to read, speak, write and understand English, per CAR. In addition, you must complete the necessary ground and flight training requirements as required by the federal aviation regulations.
Commercial Pilots and Flight Instructors: Commercial pilot and flight instructor applicants must be at least 18 years old, and as previous certificates require, must also be able to read, speak, write and understand English.
Airline Transport Pilots: Most ATP applicants must be 23 years old, but certain pilots may obtain a restricted ATP certificate at age 21. Read more about the ATP requirements in CAR.
2. Complete your college degree: While college degrees were not compulsory in the past they are considered valuable with the advancement of time. The degree should preferably be in the field of sciences if not the aviation background. Majors in non-science backgrounds can also become pilots provided they have a good grasp of maths, calculations, and reasoning. A college degree helps to demonstrate the airline the commitment and your capability to complete the program.
3. 'The Training School' Hunt: While there are a number of options available in the market there is a reason why there are more than one options. Find the reason conduct a study as to which training school is better in various aspects. Create a chart with the pros and cons of the aviation field but also consider external factors like proximity from your residence and the fees. 5. Medical: In India there are only selected doctors who can do class 2 medical tests and he will forward the same to DGCA. You will get your medical file number. 6. Computer number: Computer number is required to give theory papers. Documents required for computer number are as follows
1. Online application of computer number on http://udaan.nic.in your mark sheet.
2. Your mark sheet of 10th and 12th.
3. Your 10th and 12th school certificate and birth certificate, your photos with specific dimension to be submitted to DGCA for computer number.
7. Papers: Flying from abroad requires regulation and meteorology and navigation. If you are doing flying training in India additionally you have to add technical general and technical specific for each aircraft.
8. Two hundred hours of flying: Once you complete 200 hours of flying training and have above requirements fulfilled then you may apply in DGCA for a commercial pilot license.
